THE BEGINNING

SKULLS+RAINBOWS was born from no longer wanting to simply watch roller derby, but to to be a part of it. I was asked to design a logo for a local team and then invited to attend their inaugural bout and was hooked instantly. Within weeks of seeing that bout my wife joined Fresh Meat and we were "All In" as they say.

After watching her train for 3 months to pass her skills test, and not wanting to be left out, my artist/designer self, totally inspired by the Derby Beast, decided I had something to offer. I fell totally in love with everything Derby had to offer. I am a Husband and father of 2 girls and I love what Modern Roller Derby represents. Oh, and I like to design T-Shirts....

After months of watching, I could no longer be a spectator and decided to throw in my hat to the coaching pool. Like any good Canadian boy, I learned to skate when I was little. (Although dealing with Toe Stops took a little getting used to...) That was three years ago and now, we are 10 weeks away from the Season Opener of Year 4...

2014, here we come.
